Charlotte County is seeking volunteers to serve on the following Committees:

Manasota Key and Sandpiper Key Advisory Committee is seeking three volunteers who must be residents of Manasota Key or Sandpiper Key. Term: three members to serve a two year term from appointment until November 30, 2020. 1.18-064, Award, Bunker Gear, Boots, and Gloves, Annual (Public Safety)
RECOMMENDED ACTION:

a) Approve award of Bid #18-064 Bunker Gear, Boots, and Gloves - Annual Contract to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidders as follows: Group A and Group C to Bennett Fire Products Company Inc. of Woodstock, GA at the unit prices attached; Group B (Gloves) and Group D (Boots) reject all bids submitted;  and

b) Authorize the County Administrator to approve renewal options up to two (2) additional one-year terms at the same prices, terms and conditions, by mutual consent. The Contract period is from date of award through and including December 31, 2018.

No action needed. Budgeted in the Fire Rescue Fund and approved in the FY2018 budget process.

2.18-311, Federal Lobbyist Services (Administration)
RECOMMENDED ACTION:

a) Approve termination of Contract #11-190 Federal Lobbyist Services with Van Scoyoc Associates;   

b) Approve Contract #18-311 Federal Lobbyist Services with Thorn Run Partners with a monthly retainer fee of $7,000 per month for the period from date of award up to and including September 30, 2019, with option to renew for additional one-year terms at the same prices, terms, and conditions; and

c) Authorize Chairman to sign the Contract; and

d) Authorize County Administrator to approve additional one-year Contract renewals.  This is for Federal Lobbyist Services for Charlotte County.

No action needed. Funding from BCC Controlled Budget approved in the FY18 Budget Process.
3.17-350, Novation of Name Change, Safety Mowing (Public Works)
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the Novation of Name Change on Contract #17-350 Charlotte County Safety Mowing due to the acquisition, the change in the name of Pro Evergreen Unlimited, Inc. to Arbor One, Inc.

4.18-316, Piggyback, Purchase One (1) Wheel Loader (Public Works-Solid Waste)
RECOMMENDED ACTION:

a) Approve the award of a "Piggyback" Purchase, File #18-316, Wheel Loader, from Flagler Construction Equipment LLC, of Davie, Florida ("Piggyback off the Florida Sheriffs Association and Florida Association of Counties, Contract # FSA 17-VEH15.0 Specification #30) for a total cost of $254,908 to purchase a Volvo L110H Wheel Loader with options for Solid Waste; and

b) Approve the property deletion of Asset #34151 (John Deere 644K Front End Loader) to be sold via an on-line auction service with Gov-Deals, Inc.

5.18-194, Ranking, Design Build Fire Station 10 (Facilities)
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
a) Approve ranking of firms for Request for Proposal #18-194, Design Build Fire Station #10: 1st - Magnum Builders of Sarasota, Inc.; 2nd - Wharton-Smith, Inc., and 3rd - Fowler Construction and Development, Inc.; and
b) Approve start of negotiations; and
c) Authorize the Chairman to sign the contract after completion of negotiations. This is for a qualified firm to provide professional design build services of the new construction of Fire Station #10 on Palm Island, Florida replacing the existing structure.

No action needed.  Budgeted in CIP project, "Fire Station #10", as approved in the FY18 budget process.
6.16-420, Change Order #12, Cleaning Services, Charlotte County Facilities (Facilities)
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve Change Order #12 to Contract #16-420 Cleaning Services, Charlotte County Facilities-Annual with At Your Service Cleaning Group, Inc. of Sarasota, FL, for additional cleaning services at the Justice Center revising the monthly rate for the facility from $8,400.33 to $10,350.33 per month.

7.18-277, Award, Spring Lake Plumbing Contract 7 (Utilities)
RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Approve the award of Bid #18-277, Spring Lake Plumbing Contract 7 to the sole responsive, responsible bidder, Rohaley & Son Plumbing Contractors, Inc. of Fort Myers, Florida in the amount of $184,575.
